C.A.R.E. Foundation
We saw a need and we answered it!
C.A.R.E., which stands for Cancer ~ Awareness ~ Resources ~ Expenses, was created by survivors of Cancer, their families, and friends, to assist people in Sheridan County, Nebraska, with expenses, support, and information to help people deal with a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Our area is isolated and treatment requires traveling at least 125 miles one way. Depending on the type of treatment required, patients might be traveling this far daily or staying away from home. Unfortunately, sometimes this dictates the type of treatment the patient may have to select.
Members of the C.A.R.E. Foundation feel that this should not be the case and offer resources to the patient to make this decision easier. C.A.R.E. members can provide information and help with expenses such as mileage, lodging, and meals for the patient and one other person who may be accompanying them for treatments.
C.A.R.E. members want cancer patients to have the help they need to beat cancer and not have to make decisions based on where they live and what it costs to get the best treatment for their diagnosis.
The C.A.R.E. Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization and is committed to providing an environment free from discrimination in services and opportunity because of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or age.
